It’s hard to believe it’s only been eight months since Toronto native EBHONI first came onto the scene with ‘HOW DOES IT FEEL?’. Since then, she’s released another fantastic track almost every month, with the latest being ‘FORGIVE ME’, a collaboration with French producer Croisade. ‘FORGIVE ME’ feels much more pop-y than her previous releases, but the emotive R&B smooth grooves that have defined her thus far are very much present. Production wise, Croisade’s sparse, atmospheric verses let EBHONI’s characterful, silvery vocals come to the forefront, but he switches up the choruses with dancehall inspired synth stabs which give the track a vibrant lease of life. To top it off, EBHONI is only 16-years-old, and with tracks as sophisticated as ‘FORGIVE ME’, the future is looking exciting for the young singer. - HM
